مع انتشار الكرازة بالمسيحية في كافة أرجاء المسكونة، صدرت ترجمات للكتاب المقدس لآلاف اللغات - حوالي 6900 لغة حتى الآن - بما فيها لغات ربما لا نسمع عنها، لقبائل وشعوب تعيش في مناطق بعيدة ونائية. بل إن هناك العديد من الترجمات في اللغة الواحدة، فمثلاً يوجد حوالي 10 ترجمات عربية، وأكثر من 400 ترجمة إنجليزية. مما يجعل الكتاب المقدس أكثر كتاب تمت ترجمته على مر التاريخ. ولأن ترجمات الكتاب المقدس هي الوسيلة الأساسية لقراءة كلمة الله ومعرفة معانيها، فإن كثير من الناس قد يتساءلون: لماذا كل هذه الترجمات للكتاب المقدس؟ وما الفرق بين ترجمة وأخرى؟ وأي ترجمة هي الأدق والأقرب للنص الأصلي؟ لذلك ففي هذا البحث سوف نحاول الإجابة على هذه الأسئلة، والتعرف على أهم ترجمات الكتاب المقدس العربية والإنجليزية، وكيف يمكننا تقييم واختيار أي ترجمة ومعرفة ما يمكن يميز كل منها.
